Universiti Malaya will celebrate its 121st anniversary in 2026, marking over a century of excellence in education, research, and service to society.
As the nation’s No. 1 university, UM has produced numerous leaders and scholars who have made an impact at both national and global levels.
The #UM121 celebration is a special occasion to honour the university’s distinguished legacy while strengthening its commitment to building the future together with the campus community, alumni, and strategic partners. #UM121 symbolises pride, legacy, and a vision that continues to grow from its history into the future.
This logo symbolises the significant 121-year journey of Universiti Malaya since its establishment in 1905, reflecting a narrative of excellence, history, innovation, and continuous progress as the oldest and premier university in Malaysia.
The logo is the result of the UM 121 Years Logo Design Competition. The original design by Dr. Fiqri Dizar Khaidizar, a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculture (CEBAR), Department of Research Synergy (Portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research & Innovation), was selected as the core design foundation. The logo was then collaboratively refined by University of Malaya Press to achieve the perfect visual identity.
Universiti Malaya akan menyambut ulang tahun ke-121 pada tahun 2026, menandakan lebih satu abad kecemerlangan dalam pendidikan, penyelidikan dan khidmat kepada masyarakat.

Logo ini melambangkan perjalanan signifikan 121 tahun penubuhan Universiti Malaya sejak 1905, yang mencerminkan naratif kecemerlangan, sejarah, inovasi, dan kemajuan berterusan sebagai universiti tertua dan terulung di Malaysia.
Logo ini merupakan hasil daripada Pertandingan Mencipta Logo 121 Tahun UM. Rekaan asal oleh Dr. Fiqri Dizar Khaidizar, Pensyarah Kanan di Pusat Penyelidikan Bioteknologi Pertanian (CEBAR), Jabatan Sinergi Penyelidikan (Portfolio Timbalan Naib Canselor Penyelidikan & Inovasi), telah dipilih sebagai asas rekaan utama. Logo tersebut kemudiannya dimurnikan secara kolaboratif oleh Penerbit Universiti Malaya bagi mencapai identiti visual yang sempurna.In conjunction with Universiti Malaya’s 121st Anniversary, a series of curated Flagship Events have been established to bring the theme "121 Years of Excellence, Weaving the Future" to life through tangible social impact. These high-impact initiatives translate academic innovation into sustainable solutions, fostering talent empowerment, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.
