UM STUDENT, MIFZAL SALIHIN CROWNED TOKOH SISWA KEBANGSAAN

Universiti Malaya (UM) student Mifzal Salihin winning the Minister of Higher Education Award and being crowned as the 'Tokoh Siswa Kebangsaan' in conjunction with the 2022 Best Student Award Ceremony organised by the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) last Monday.

Mifzal, 22, a third-year student of the Faculty of  Engineering was selected to receive the award as a result of his excellent involvement in the field of entrepreneurship that benefited his colleagues in the university.

Mifzal said he had created an online tutoring class called AfterKelas.com three years ago which involved the participation of between 40 and 50 UM students thus far.

"These are active tutors who teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects. It can be estimated that their monthly income is between RM1,000 and RM1,500," he said.

The eldest of four siblings from Shah Alam, Selangor also shared his ambition of becoming a successful entrepreneur upon graduation.

He took home RM3,000 cash along with the main trophy, scholarship and certificate presented by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. KPT Tokoh Siswa award was a platform to appreciate and recognise the excellence of students in various fields including academics, personality and co-curriculum.
